How to survive Orlando
Travel Orlando Florida – Our top 6 tips to ensure a great trip
Everyone has to visit Orlando at some stage in their lives, simply because you have to; don’t ask me why, I think there’s some unwritten law in the cosmos or something. Basically, Orlando is fun central, and whether you’re travelling as a family, with a group, or you’re heading off on your own for a spot of adrenaline-related fun, then there are a few things you need to bear in mind if you want to survive the whole affair without needing sleep-related rehab afterwards.
Orlando is exhausting, there really is no other way to describe it, so you need to be sure that you’re doing everything the right way, to protect your poor sleep-deprived eyes and sore feet. So here are our top 6 tips
Travel Orlando Florida Tip 1 – Plan a little beforehand
I’m not suggesting you go around yielding a clipboard and running your time to a prescribed itinerary, but I am suggesting you decide where you’re going to go on which particular day. I say this because if you are heading to the theme parks, there are special events on during certain times of the year, and indeed on certain days of the week, such as fireworks etc. If you want to catch these, then you need to be in the right place, at the right time.
Travel Orlando Florida Tip 2 -Throw in a few pool days
You’re going to be shattered, believe me, so a day chilling around the pool is going to mean you can rest a little in-between action-packed days. Grab your costume or trunks, perhaps a cocktail or two, and chill the hell out, you’re on holiday after all.
Travel Orlando Florida Tip 3 – Book tickets well in advance
You’ll save money if you book your tickets in advance online, but do make sure you’re using a reputable site; nobody likes to be falling foul of ticket touts, it’s really not the way to start your holiday. Pick the right package for the number of days you’re away for, and you’ll save money compared to buying at the gate.
Travel Orlando Florida Tip 4 – Look at where you’re staying in relation to where you want to go
It’s no good staying in Disney World’s back garden if you’ve no intention of going there, so instead look at where you’re wanting to go, and find somewhere close by to stay. Orlando is huge, and getting around can be slow thanks to traffic – shuttle buses also seem to take forever.
Travel Orlando Florida Tip 5 – Think comfort
You might not be wanting to walk around in flat, comfortable shoes, but trust me, fashion goes out of the door when your feet are throbbing to excess and you simply want to lie down for a while. Think comfort, think long-wearing, and I’m sorry, but you’re going to have think about buying one of those horrendous plastic ponchos for the odd rain shower too – it has to be done!
Travel Orlando Florida Tip 6 – It’s not all about theme parks
You might think it’s all about fast rides and theme park fun, but there’s a lot more to Orlando than Mickey Mouse.
The Everglades aren’t too far away, and an airboat ride is a great way to spend a little time.
There are also plentiful golf courses, amazing shopping, and Miami isn’t too far away either. Fun, fun, fun!
If you manage to get to the end of your Orlando break without bags under your eyes, believe me, you’ll have done well!
